Blog Tour- First Touch by Laurelin Paige

About

When Emily Wayborn goes home to visit her mom while on hiatus from her hit TV show, she receives a voicemail from her former best friend, Amber. Though the two were once notorious party girls, they haven't spoken in years. Although the message might sound benign to anyone else, Amber uses a safe word that Emily recognizes, a word they always used to get out of sticky situations during their wild days. And what's more chilling than the voicemail: it turns out that Amber has gone missing.

Determined to track down her friend, Emily follows a chain of clues that lead her to the enigmatic billionaire Reeve Sallis, a hotelier known for his shady dealings and play boy reputation. Now, in order to find Amber, Emily must seduce Reeve to learn his secrets and discover the whereabouts of her friend. But as she finds herself more entangled with him, she finds she's drawn to Reeve for more than just his connection to Amber, despite her growing fear that he may be the enemy. When she's forced to choose where her loyalty lies, how will she decide between saving Amber and saving her heart?

My Review

This was a great start to a new series by author Laurelin Paige.

The story is about Emily, who receives an SOS voicemail from her best friend Amber who has now vanished. Emily is determined to find out what has happened to Amber. She hires a private detective but she feels that she also needs to find Amber herself, therefore she decides to try and get close to Reeve and try to discover his connection to Amber. However as she starts to get to know Reeve, can she trust him and how will she find out who is telling the truth about the fate of Amber?

What intrigued me about this book was it an original story, not having read one like it before. I was hooked in from the beginning.  Emily was a great character and Reeve grew on me as the story progression. There was several times I wasn't sure if to trust Reeve or not at times and I still don't know where the story will go. Emily and Reeve have great chemistry together. There are plenty of hot and steamy scenes and there are elements of BDSM. It was a great story and there are lots of twists and turns as the story goes on. The story is told from Emily's POV but I think I would have liked some of Reeve's POV but then the story might have lost the suspense element.

The cliffhanger ending left the book at an OMG moment and left me wanting more. I can't wait for June to come around as I am dying for the next installment.

* I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
