About

We all play victims to our pasts; to the choices we make and the lives we create.
They define who we are.
And sometimes if we're lucky enough, the past stays where it belongs: in the past.
I'm not one of the lucky ones.
I never have been.
Because now the past is knocking on my door, offering deals I have no choice but to take… deals that will help bring justice—not just for me, but for my brothers.

The problem?
The deal is a ticking time bomb.
One I didn't know existed.

Tick.
Tock.

My Review

Having read and loved Jay McLean's 'More than series' I was looking forward to reading this but at the same time I have also waited to read closely to book 2's release.

The story is about Kyler Parker who has recently left the army. Ky gets into a fight one night and is asked to help carry out an undercover investigation by his best friend who is also a police officer. Ky has to go undercover and train to become a fighter to find out what exactly is happening in a underground fighting ring.

Madison is Ky's new mysterious neighbor, we don't learn much about her in his book until right near the end. Ky has a instant connection to Madison, there is something about her that he is drawn to despite not knowing much about her.

I really enjoyed reading this one. Not only did Ky and Madison have a great connection but I also liked the mystery, suspense element running throughout. There were so many questions, some were answered some were not. I was hooked and wanted to keep reading. It does end on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to get book 2 and get some answers to the questions.

Over a great read with romance, suspense and mystery.

* I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
