That began to change the day I met Liam Stone, who is so much more than his money and power, and even the protection he has offered me. He is passion. He is friendship. He is love and happiness, and the man who made my enemies his own. And now with his help, the secret that drove me into hiding is buried, our enemies contained. Liam and I can finally start our life and put this behind us. The nightmare is over. Unless…it’s not.

My Review
This is the final book in the series and it was overall a great conclusion to the series.
The story is back to being told from Amy's POV after the last book was in Chad's POV.
This book wraps up Amy and Liam’s story. The author still threw in a few twists and turns along the way. It’s a fairly short book but it was perfect conclusion to the story. I do hope we get more of Chad’s story as I feel that there is still more to learn and I would like to know what happened next. This novella takes place and Christmas so it has a nice christmassy feel to it and I think that adds to the romance feel.

Overall this is a sweet romance read and a great conclusion to a series.

Excerpt #1
“Hands back over your head,” he orders, his hands falling from my body, promising he won’t touch me again until I comply.
I do as he wishes, crossing my wrists above my head, staring down at him, and he is naked and beautiful, the kind of man who can make a woman beg. This woman. Because I hurt in all the places he’s still not touching me. “Please, Liam,” I whisper.
Satisfaction flickers in his gaze, as if my plea is what he’d been waiting for. He tangles his fingers into my panties, holding my stare as he oh so slowly drags them downward. They fall to my ankles and he presses his mouth to my belly, one palm on my upper thigh, his thumb flicking ever so gently on my clit. I try to suck in air but fail as over and over that thumb teases me, the delicate friction driving me insane, enough to make me burn, but not enough to let me breathe.
“Liam,” I gasp, and again, it seems to be another plea he seeks as it has barely left my lips when his fingers slip into the wet, swollen flesh of my core and enter me. And his mouth, his gifted, amazing mouth, replaces his thumb and closes down on my now throbbing nub. The wait is over as he suckles and licks, and when my knees tremble, his hand is on my hip, holding me steady, the way he has from the moment we first met.
Somehow I keep my arms over my head, when what I want is to reach down and touch Liam. Oh how I burn to touch him. A burn that radiates through my sex and suddenly I am on the edge of the sweet, blissful place that is release. I suck in a breath that lodges in my chest, my body tensing, and then I’m there, so very there, tumbling into a place that can only be called perfection. I lose everything. Worry. Time. Pain. And when I come back to the world, Liam is holding my hips, keeping me from falling.
He kisses my belly again but this time he lingers there, his cheek settling where his lips were seconds before, as if he’s holding on to me, making his claim that he won’t lose me real. There is vulnerability in the act, the kind that he shows no one else.
No one but me. He shows me. He trusts me the way I do him. And I have never felt so loved and complete as I do in this moment.
He’s different now, the edge that was there moments before shifting to something equally dark, but free of sharp corners. My heart squeezes with the impact of what he feels, and the way he dissolves the loneliness of my past. I reach for him, my fingers slipping into the thick, dark strands of his hair. He lifts his head to fix me in a deep, dark stare, cupping both my hands in his to bring them to his lips. I sink to my knees in front of him, my hand flattening over his heart.
“I love you,” I whisper.
He cups my face. “I love you, too, but baby, I won’t apologize for protecting you.”
There are a million things I could say in that moment but he is already kissing me, deeply, passionately, the moment of tenderness transforming into something hungrier, hotter. Suddenly, we are clinging to each other, trying to get closer, hands all over each other as we tumble to the ground, lying side by side. Still kissing, still trying to get more of each other, he shifts our bodies, his thick erection pressing between my legs into the slick heat he’s created.
His mouth leaves mine but our foreheads are pressed together, and we do what we’ve said we will do. We breathe together, and it’s intense and wonderful and I swear I can feel him everywhere, in every part of me.
He pushes inside me, driving deep, and his hand slides up my back, molding my breasts to his chest. “This is where you belong. With me. That’s what matters.”
“Yes,” I whisper. “With you.”

Ryder Diamond—the town’s golden boy—doesn’t have time for taking chances, let alone love. Against his better judgment, he lets his buddies set him up on a blind date with a girl who’s only passing through town. But temporary or not, Whitney James sets fire to desires he can’t control.
Before they know it, Ryder and Whitney are in a supply closet, drowning in lust. She’s only in town for the summer—what better way to spend it than in the arms of Mr. Perfect? Except, she’s wild and free, and he’s Mr. Stability. Which means he may as well be Mr. Wrong.
And her new job? It’s with Ryder’s sister.
Sex and the inability to keep their hands off each other are the only things they have in common. But this little hook-up has “disaster” written all over it...and the only way Ryder can save his reputation is by avoiding the sweet little firecracker who could ruin it all.

My Review

Another great book from Joya Ryan.

This book is about Ryder and Whitney. I haven't read none of the other books in this series but as this can be read as a standalone it didn't matter but I will certainly be looking to read the other.

What I loved about this one was the banter between Ryder and Whitney. The author always seems to write characters who have great chemistry and really brings them to life.

This was a fairly quick read but I really enjoyed it. There is little drama but still has a little bit of angst to make a great story.

Overall a great fun, sexy read.

chasing mr. wrong teaser.jpg
Excerpt #1
“So you’re from around here?” the sexy brunette asked as she eyed her shot and bent over the pool table again.
Jesus Christ, Ryder needed to get a grip. He couldn’t stare all night at her perfect ass in those insanely short shorts. Her shirt was tied up and gave flashes of her tight stomach, and Ryder had to take a deep breath. Maybe Bass was right. It’d been too long since he’d gotten laid.
“It’s not a hard question, big guy,” she said, snapping his thoughts out of the gutter and back to reality. Where were his manners?
“I’m sorry, sweetness. Run that by me again?” He stood straighter, gripping his pool cue as her big, chocolate eyes flashed up at him with a smile.
“I asked if you were from around here.” She hit the five in the side pocket and straightened.
Was he from around there? Technically, the lodge was in Diamond County, but it wasn’t zoned in the town of Diamond. He’d have to hold onto that technicality. If he so much as gave his last name, the connection would be made and the questions would start. Was he rich? Was he married? On and on.
For now, he wanted to take advantage of what Bass had said. This woman was passing through for just one night, and for one night, he didn’t have to be Ryder Diamond of the founding Diamonds.
“Not exactly,” he finally answered. It was the truth, basically.
She nodded and looked at him. Those roaming eyes gave off what he knew was a look of interest. And damn, it was a mighty fine look.
“You’re a little mysterious, cowboy,” she said, her east coast accent kicking up just a hair.
“Not a cowboy.” He drawled the last word and dropped the vowel just enough to gauge her reaction. Judging by the quick intake of air, and those high perfect breasts pressing tight against that shirt, he’d guess she was toiling with the idea of what getting down and dirty with a country boy was like. And he’d happily show her. “You wanna tell me where you’re from?”
She glanced away. “I move around a lot. Not really from anywhere.”
Huh. So she was playing the part of a mystery as much as he was.
She bent over the pool table again, even though it was his turn. He happily let her have the shot.
“How about this,” he said, and came to stand by her. “Why don’t we skip all the personal questions? You just tell me about yourself, however much or little you’d like.”
She cocked an eyebrow. “The more mysterious, the better?”
He smiled. “You got it.”
With her pool cue perfectly aligned, she winked at him, and then, without taking her eyes off him, she nailed the shot and sank the three ball. She was better than good, and that had him instantly hard. She was young, hot, and stirred his blood in a way it hadn’t been in a while. Maybe ever. Because with her lush mouth and hypnotic eyes, it was hard keeping his manners at the forefront, especially when she represented everything easy, fun, and wild.
And good Lord, he would make sure tonight fulfilled every fantasy he’d denied himself. Just like a diabetic sampling chocolate frosting…only once Ryder had a taste, he’d consume the whole damn cake.
She’s bad for you…
The quiet voice whispered that familiar warning. She was a temptation that he should be struggling to resist, yet every beat of his pulse told him that she’d be worth the sin. A night of lust to scratch this damn itch, then he could go back to his normal life tomorrow.
He’d been burned by a woman before. A woman like the one in front of him. Sexy, wild, and looking for fun, not for serious. And Ryder was a serious guy. Had to be. The second he wasn’t, he lost control and paid the consequences dearly.
Don’t get sucked in… Resist.
“I like personal details,” she said. “But not the boring kind. I don’t want to know where you’re from or what you do.”
Ryder nodded. He could get on board with that. “Details, so long as they’re not boring. And how do we go about that?”
She gave a wicked grin and ran her teeth over her bottom lip. He watched every damn slide, wishing to hell he could taste what she was tasting.

Excerpt #2
“Maybe we should take baby steps,” she said, taunting him just enough to get that silver spark in his eyes to glint. “I wouldn’t want to frighten you with my wild ways.”
He raised a brow. “Me? Frightened of you?”
She shrugged, but the way his body moved made the hairs on her neck perk up and pay attention. He stalked behind her and stood tall so that she was caught in his shadow. His hands moved ever so slightly as if he could snatch her in a single second and do what he wanted with her.
And she’d let him. Because the raw power that dripped from him was engulfing. So that was what it took to bring out his wild side—a challenge he couldn’t refuse. And boy, now she had to wonder if she’d gotten more than she’d asked for. He exuded a dominating presence that refused to be ignored.
“You looking to taunt me, little girl?”
“Just looking to learn you.”
That made him stop. Shit, had she said the wrong thing? This was only for a single night. But she wasn’t going to bore him with her plans for the summer—make some money so she could move on to the next place. This guy wasn’t even from around there. Looking to “learn him” had been a poor choice of words for a man she would never see again. Yet she couldn’t bring herself to back down from her statement. She only had tonight with him, but she planned to learn everything she could about how to give him pleasure.
“What is it you think you’ve learned so far?” he asked.
“You’re polite, but I think you have a wild streak just like I do.” She tapped her chin, revving up that alpha instinct he was keeping a tight hold of.
Push just a bit more.
“I wonder…” she said. “Do you ever get to act on that wildness?”
“What makes you think I don’t?”
“You’ve never even gone skinny-dipping.”
“Maybe because I’ve never gotten the lady out of my bed long enough to make it to the lake.”
That got her attention real quick. He was good. Very, very good. And while she was certain he was also a nice guy, it was becoming clear there was an intensity to him that he rarely, if ever, got to explore. And she wanted to tap into that wicked darkness he was caging up.
Push…just…a…bit…more…
“I’ve never had sex with a cowboy in his truck,” she said.
He unleashed the sexiest grin God had ever gifted a man, and he took one more step until he was toe-to-toe with her.
His breath hit her lips when he said, “Like I said, sweetness, I’m no cowboy. But I do have a truck.”
Done!
She was about ready to scream the word and rip his clothes off. Instead, she finished her drink and tried to keep her body from buzzing out of control. Calm and seductive. Maybe even a bit coy. That wasn’t exactly her game—she preferred being direct—but if that was what Ryder needed, she was all too willing. She was game for anything and refused to cower behind inhibitions. Just looking at Ryder had her thinking that the few interactions she’d had with boys in the past were nothing compared to the man that stood before her.
She finished her drink and set it on the edge of the pool table. His eyes were locked on her, silent and waiting. He didn’t have to pretend at control, he owned it. That much was clear from the stillness in his frame and the confidence in his stance.
There was a back door out of the billiard room. She slipped her hand into his large one and tugged him to follow her. He did, and right when they hit the small hallway, his grip tightened and he spun her around to face him.
“Fuck baby steps,” he rasped against her mouth, then snagged her bottom lip between his teeth, tugging slightly and bringing her in for the hottest kiss she’d ever had.

My Review

This is the third book in the Traveling series and this time its Tucker's story.

The book starts with a  party and the carnival where Tucker and Tera have some series chemistry as Tera tries to get closer to Tucker even through he is reluctant as Tera is Kes's sister. Tucker is your typical bad boy womanizer but for some reason Tera has captured his attention when she should be strictly off limits.

We learn alot about Tucker's past in this book. At times my heart really broke and I just wanted to give him a big hug at times, my heart broke. As Tera peruses Tucker the pair grow closer however Tera's dad the senator does'nt want his daughter dating someone like Tucker and tries to remove him from Tera's life. Throw it that Tucker has a lot to deal with from his past and with his family. Can Tucker and Tera find a way to be together.

I really enjoyed this one and as I said at times it was an emotional read and I wanted to cry for the things Tucker when through but then at the same time he also made some really bad decisions near the beginning that left my mouth open. I love how Tera fought for what she wanted and I loved how we got to see Tucker work out all of his emotions and feelings. It's told from both Tera and Tucker's POV. There is great chemistry and banter throughout the book.

Many of the characters from the first two pictures are seen throughout the book and it was great to catch up with Kes and Amiee.

Overall a another great book from the author and fans of this series won't be disappointed.

Just as I was considering making my excuses and driving back to the hotel in Arcata, a man’s laugh rang out, a sound of deep joy echoing through the twilight. I looked across and saw him: his head thrown back, his eyes sparkling, his hands on his hips. He was still smiling when his gaze met mine. I saw his eyes darken with a predatory expression that made me feel as if his gaze alone could strip the clothes from my body. Tucker McCoy. I straightened up fractionally when he started to approach me, his walk loose-limbed and confident. “Hey there,” he said, giving me a sexy half-smile as he casually propped a shoulder against the coffeeberry tree where I was slumped in a deckchair. “Tell me why a beautiful woman is sitting all by her lonesome.” His accent was warm with a touch of Southern that melted like honey on his tongue. I raised an eyebrow and gave him one of my father’s patented campaign stares, the one he used with reporters who asked dumb questions. “I’ll take the compliment of being called beautiful,” I said, “but really, is that the best line you have?” The light of challenge sparked in his eyes and his grin grew wider. “Not even close to my best,” he said with a cocky edge to his voice. “I thought I’d start off easy.” “Oh, but I’m not easy,” I replied. “I’m complicated and difficult and it takes a lot of work to impress me.” I was lying. His long, lean build, deep-set eyes and model-pretty face were impressing the hell out of me. His hair was curling to his chin, the ends bleached to a dirty blond by the sun. And what color were those amazing eyes? Gray? Green? Almost a light olive color—I’d never seen anything like them before. Close up, the air seemed to spark and crackle around him. There was an intensity hidden in his lazy gaze and laidback smile that made me uncomfortable. I didn’t want to feel the heat in his eyes, and I definitely didn’t want to feel the attraction pulling at me. Feeling twitchy and wanting to squirm under his penetrating gaze, I did the opposite: I leaned back, crossing one leg over the other, smiling to myself as his eyes followed the movement. He glanced up and grinned again. “I’ve never been afraid of hard work,” he murmured, hooking a thumb through one of his belt loops. “Good to know that you like a challenge—that makes it easy for me.” “How d’you figure that?” he asked, his lips curving upwards. “I just keep saying no to keep you interested.” “So you want to keep me interested?” “I like a challenge,” I threw back at him. He leaned a little closer and it felt like a bolt of static electricity zipped between us. I glanced out toward the ocean, wondering if a storm was brewing, but the waves were silky ripples under a purple sky. “I’ll work for my supper,” he said, his tongue flicking out to wet his lips as he spoke, looking at me as if I was on the menu. It sounded so dirty, the way he said it, the way his gaze roved over my chest. But I wasn’t going to let him know that. “Now you want me to cook for you, too? Wow, you’re sure of yourself.” He gave a husky laugh. “Is it bad that I’m sure of myself? It’s you I’m not sure about.” “What makes you so sure of yourself?” I asked, looking him in the eye. “What you see is what you get.” “Hmm, so no hidden depths. That’s disappointing.” He grinned at me, his eyes crinkling with pleasure. “Nope, absolutely no hidden depths. As shallow as the day is long. But that means no surprises, right? Just lil ole me—everything that you’ve been checking out for the last two minutes.” My cheeks flushed as I met his eyes. “Not that I mind,” he went on. “I like the way you look at me … pretty much like the way I’m looking at you.” “Slightly annoyed?” I suggested, pretending to be bored. He grinned and shook his head. “Uh-uh, pretty lady. The look you’ve been giving me says that you’re interested.” He leaned closer. “I’ll be hitting the road tomorrow, but we could make sweet music tonight. It’ll be worth your while—I’m a guy who knows how to use his … hands.” “I’m more concerned with your mouth … more specifically your tongue … especially if you keep mixing your metaphors.” He gave a startled laugh. “I think you’re teasing me, beautiful, or maybe that’s a challenge?” “Not at all,” I said, being serious for a moment. “I know you’re good with your hands. I was told you did most of the repairs on Kes and Aimee’s cabin. Did you work in construction before you joined the carnival?” Tucker looked taken aback. “Who told you that?” “Aimee mentioned a few things.” Tucker lifted a shoulder and leaned back against the tree, his face hidden in the shadows. “Just some stuff I picked up,” he said, sounding wary now. “More than a few things from what I heard.” He shrugged again, noncommittal, then his eyes made a slow appraisal of my body. I should have been insulted by the way he let his hot gaze roam every inch of me, but I was enjoying returning the favor. His jeans hung loosely from his hips, the rips in one knee caused by hard usage not designer tears. He wore an Eagles t-shirt that had been washed so many times it was impossible to read the words that ghosted over his firm chest. His biceps bunched as he propped himself against the tree, and his tanned skin was turning from gold to light brown in the first months of spring, but he was no gym rat. Everything he had was from hard, physical labor. I’d been brought up with men who pushed papers for a living—this man was not from their world. And that excited me. “Why’s a class act like you hanging with a bunch of carnies?” he asked. His voice had turned edgy and his question felt like a test. “What do you mean?” His tone was still lazy, but there was a tightness that hadn’t been apparent before. “Sweet cheeks, you’re wearing a designer skirt that must have cost two hundred dollars and there’s nothing cheap about your perfume.” Determined not to show my chagrin that he’d read me so easily, my reply was calm and level. “Three-hundred dollars. And I’m visiting friends.” “Guy friends?” “Jealous?” I asked with a light laugh. He grinned. “Maybe I just don’t feel like kicking anyone’s ass tonight.” “Maybe you’d be the one getting your ass kicked.” He leaned closer, and I caught the scent of soap and clean sweat. “If you’re the one doing the kicking, it would be worth it.” He whispered the last words, making me lean towards him, but when we were close enough to touch, he pulled away at the last second and winked at me. Annoyed, I sank back into my chair. “I think I’d like to kick your ass.” “I think I’d like to let you.” I couldn’t help laughing. “Very smooth, Mr. McCoy.” His expression showed surprise. “Well now, that just doesn’t seem polite that you know my name but I don’t know yours. You gonna tell me your name, sweet cheeks?” I stood up and smiled at him. “Well now, it isn’t ‘sweet cheeks’.” I lifted my beer in a salute and walked away, hearing his laughter follow me. I knew myself well enough to know that I was minutes from falling for his obvious charms. I needed to get away before… The hell I did! I almost stumbled as my steps faltered. What on earth was I doing? Why was I running away from a man that I was deeply attracted to, whose eyes promised as much sin as I could take in a single night?
The Traveling Man (Traveling Series, #1)
I was ordinary. Nice. He was extraordinary. And he wasn’t always nice.
Moody and difficult, brilliant and beautiful, Kes scared me and he protected me. He could be incredibly hurtful and incredibly thoughtful. He wasn’t perfect, but he was perfect for me. He challenged me, he took me out of my safe little box and showed me the world could be magnificent. He was everything I wasn’t. Aimee Anderson is ten when the traveling carnival first comes to her nice little town. She doesn’t expect her world to change so completely. But meeting Kestrel Donohue puts her life on a different path. Even though she only sees him for the two weeks of the year when he passes through her home town, his friendship is the most important of her life. As a child’s friendship grows to adult love, the choices become harder, and both Kes and Aimee realize that two weeks a year will never be enough.
The Traveling Woman (Traveling Series, #2)
How many times do you gamble on love? When love has knocked you down, should you give it another chance? When does optimism become stupidity?
And what happens when the man you’re in love with is never still, always moving, always traveling? Do you say goodbye, or do you leave behind everything that you’ve worked for, everything that you’ve ever known? Can a traveling carnival be my home? Oh. You thought I had the answers. No, sorry. No answers, just a lot of questions—and a heart that wants to rule my head. Can one person be my home?
