“There’s plenty more fish in the sea.” Great advice if you’re a fisherman. I wasn’t. I also wasn’t a player. I wasn’t a ‘love ‘em and leave ‘em’ kind of guy. I wasn’t scared of commitment. That is, until Melissa Cross showed up, stole my heart, and then disappeared with the pieces. It took awhile, but I made a new life for myself, one that didn’t include any part of her. Except, it turned out, it did. Our lives are more connected now than they ever were…and maybe my heart wasn’t as disconnected as I fooled myself into believing. *** “Keep your friends close and your heart closer.” I always assumed this little pearl of wisdom from my mother meant to treasure the man I fell in love with more than anyone. Until the day I learned that it really meant to hold tight to your heart, because once you gave it away, nothing in the world hurt more than leaving it behind when the relationship had to end. I thought I’d moved on. I thought I’d built a new life that didn’t - couldn’t - include Chris Matthews; until the man I’d never forgotten showed back up in my life. Turns out I must still own a piece of my heart, otherwise I’d never be able to feel it shatter all over again when I saw him again. Our lives seemed destined to align, but would there ever come a time when our hearts would as well?

Couple kissing at alley in city.

My Review

This was a great story from M.E Montgomery. Having never read one of her books before I was unsure what to expect but i really liked it. The characters are part of a series but I found it could easily be read as a standalone and the added bonus is I now want to read the rest of the series.

Melissa and Chris were great charachers, and this was a sweet story about how they re-connected and foud each other. They have great chmisrty and can't they can't avoid the pull they have towards each other. It's a fairly quick read but I loved it. I jsut wish we had a little from these characters but maybe that is me being greedy. Overall a great read and I have another new author to check out.

Blog tour- Out Of Love by RC Boldt

  out-of-love-bt-ban

Check out OUT OF LOVE by R.C. Boldt! It’s on tour this week and releases December 6th! Check it out and grab your copy today! outoflove-rc-boldt

About Out of Love: Foster Kavanaugh, former Navy SEAL, knows what it’s like to be the top dog, the man in charge, the one calling the shots. Now that he’s running his own security consulting firm, not much has changed. Except the curvy blonde he hired as his office manager. Noelle Davis has been through the damn ringer. Swearing off men after escaping a toxic relationship, she’s grateful for a fresh start—new job included. Of course, her job isn’t tranquil and calm. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Because her boss is the most infuriating man on the planet. And, not to mention, sexy as hell. Foster has limits. Rules. No attachments allowed because he doesn’t do love—and Noelle Davis foiled that plan and took a red pen to his list of rules. With her smart mouth and quick witted banter, he found the woman beginning to creep past his defenses. When circumstances put Noelle in a perilous position, the first person to come to her rescue is none other than Foster Kavanaugh. She gets to see the man in action—not as her aggravating boss, but the man who will stop at nothing to ensure her safety. The same man who makes her want to reconsider her self-imposed embargo of men. The man she wants to get to know now that she’s seen another side of him. The man who makes her want…more. But is more possible when you're OUT OF LOVE? **Out of Love is a full-length, standalone novel that does NOT need to be read in conjunction with any other book. **

My Review

I'm so pleased I finally got to read Foster and Noelle's story. We have been teased about them in the last few books. It didn't disappoint either. Foster and Noelle have a great chemistry, they both have issues that need to overcome especially Foster. Foster feels drawn to Noelle even though he shouldn't as she is his employee, however when she needs some help dealing with an ex boyfriend he can't help but step in and protect Noelle, however can he overcome his own issues to believe them together.

I was hooked throughout this one, I loved the references to Aladdin and was humming a whole new year nearly all the way through. I loved the banter between Foster and Noelle and wanted to reach into my kindle and shake Foster at one point as they were perfect together. It was also great to see the rest of the gang well, these books contains the best group of characters. It's well written like the other and has a good pace. It can be read as a standalone but why would you want to miss out on the other books. It's also told from duel POV which I love. I would highly recommend reading this and the rest of the series.

NORMAL (Book 1)
It's the kind of situation most people would dread. Starting at a new high school, in the middle of my senior year, in a new town, in a new state. I know no one. No one knows me. That's what I'm counting on. A year ago, Aurora "Rory" Pine was just a normal teenage girl - just as sweet and naive as the fairy tale princess she was named after. But this isn't a year ago. Rory is broken, and suffering from a new debilitating anxiety disorder, wrought with precarious triggers, she moves across the country to escape the source of her troubles. Her plan is anonymity, but that's easier said than achieved for the new girl having a panic episode outside of calculus. The worst part? There's a witness - and a gorgeous one at that. Sam is a walking trigger for Rory. Incredibly handsome, built like the star athlete he obviously is, and undoubtedly popular, Sam outwardly represents everything Rory despises about high school. But as the fates keep throwing them together, a connection sparks that neither ever expected, and certainly can’t ignore. But Sam has issues too, and Rory's past won't just stay in the damned past. When friendship evolves into something deeper, can a girl utterly destroyed by the worst kind of betrayal and a boy battling demons of his own ever have a normal relationship? Is that even what they want? Find out in NORMAL, a gritty story of trust and abuse, heartbreak and salvation, and if they're lucky - love. This is not a flowery romance - not for the faint of heart. teaser-normal ReCAP (Book 1.5) Rory and Sam fell in love in NORMAL, and we all fell in love right along with them. Now see it all unfold through Sam's eyes, and learn just how the new girl with anxiety issues stole the heart of the gorgeous heartthrob, and turned his world upside down. You already heard the story. The one of how Rory and I fell in love, supposedly, even if she couldn't handle it in the end. You know how it all went. Or you think you do. You only know her side. But I have my own point of view, and even Rory couldn't know my thoughts in those few months it took for her to go from being a stranger to my whole entire world. Every moment is permanently ingrained in my memory. In my goddamned soul. From the moment I stumbled upon the girl panicking outside of calculus - the one with the tight little body, the angelic face, and the fierce attitude - to the night she abandoned me in Miami. It was the sum of those moments that changed me irrevocably. Our story isn't over. I won't let it be. But this, this is what happened so far, the way I saw it. I'm Cap. Or Sam, to Rory. And this is my story. teaser-okay OKAY (Book 2)
After the horrors she’s survived over the past year, Rory never expected to find the one thing she certainly wasn’t looking for – love. But after the painful realization that her past has left her a dangerous liability to the person she cares for the most, she finally understands that for her and Sam, love means letting go.
Can two people hopelessly in love with one another ever revert back into just friends? Neither Rory nor Sam know for sure. But the one thing they do know – it’s the only choice they have. As Rory recovers from a devastating assault, Sam will do anything to make sure it never happens again. But how far will he go to keep her safe? Their choices will change everything, and they will either bring them back together, or destroy them irrevocably.

My Review

Wow this was a great series and I am so glad i got the opporunitiy to read this series.

It's not a easy read at times due to the issues that are dealt with through out the series. It was a emotional read, I really felt everything the characters went through. I am so glad I was able to read all three books as I did'nt want to stop reading, I was very invested in the characters getting that HEA they both deserved. The books are well written and the story has a good pace. I'll certainly be checking out other books by the author.

Blog Tour- A Veil of Vines by Tillie Cole

To most people, princes, princesses, counts and dukes are found only in the pages of the most famous of fairytales. Crowns, priceless jewels and gilded thrones belong only in childhood dreams.
But for some, these frivolous fancies are truth.
For some, they are real life.
On Manhattan’s Upper East Side, people have always treated me as someone special. All because of my ancestral name and legacy. All because of a connection I share to our home country’s most important family of all.
I am Caresa Acardi, the Duchessa di Parma. A blue blood of Italy. I was born to marry well. And now the marriage date is set.
I am to marry into House Savona. The family that would have been the royals had Italy not abolished the monarchy in 1946. But to the aristocrats of my home, the abolition means nothing at all.
The Savonas still hold power where it counts most.
In our tight-knit world of money, status and masked balls, they are everything and more.
And I am soon to become one of them.
I am soon to become Prince Zeno Savona’s wife…
… or at least I was, until I met Achille.
And everything changed.

Caresa

As my papa’s G5 began its descent, I looked out of the window beside me and waited for the plane to break through the clouds. I held my breath, body tense, then suddenly the burnt-orange remnants of daylight flooded the plane, bathing the interior with a soft, golden glow. I inhaled deeply. Italia.
Fields and fields of green and yellow created a patchwork quilt below, rolling hills and crystal-blue lakes stretching as far the eye could see. I smiled as a sense of warmth ran through me.
It was the most beautiful place on earth.
Sitting back in my wide cream leather chair, I closed my eyes and tried to prepare myself for what was coming. I was flying to Florence airport, from where I would be swiftly taken to the Palazzo Savona estate just outside of the city.
I would meet Prince Zeno.
I had met him twice before—once when I was four, of which I had no memory, and again when I was ten. The interaction we’d had as children had been brief. If I was being honest, I had found Zeno to be arrogant and rude. He had been thirteen at the time and not at all interested in meeting a ten-year-old girl from America.
Neither of us had known at the time that that our betrothal had been agreed upon two years prior. It turned out that the trip my papa had taken to Umbria when I was eight was to secure a forever-bond between the Savonas and the Acardis. King Santo and my father had planned for their only children to marry. They were already joined in business; Zeno’s arranged marriage to me would also strengthen both families’ place in society.
I thought back on my New York farewell of nine hours ago and sighed. My parents had driven me to the private hangar and said their goodbyes. My mama cried—her only child was leaving her for a new life. My papa, although sad to see me go, beamed at me with the utmost pride. He had held me close and whispered, “I have never been more proud of you than I am right now, Caresa. Savona Wines’ stock has plummeted since Santo’s death. This union will reassure all the shareholders that our business is still strong. That we are still a stable company with Zeno at the helm.”
I had given him a tight smile and boarded the plane with a promise that they would see me before the wedding. And that had been that.
I was to marry Zeno, and I hadn’t protested even once. I imagined to most modern-day women living in New York, the process of arranged marriages sounded positively medieval, even barbaric. For a blue blood, it was simply a part of life.
King Santo Savona died two months ago. The shareholders of his many Italian vineyards, the stakeholders in Savona Wines, had expected his son, Zeno, to immediately step up and take charge. Instead, Zeno had plunged himself into the party scene even harder than before—and that was quite a feat. Within weeks my papa had flown out to Umbria to see what could be done.
The answer: our imminent union.

My Review

This was an okay read for me, however I wouldn't say it was my favorite of the series. I found it to be a little descriptive at times and I felt myself skipping over it. I didn't really feel the connection between the main characters. It's a standalone book so the story is wrapped up nicely at the end.

Author Bio

Jessica Gouin hates talking about Jessica Gouin. Especially in the third person.

I’m a fairly normal person from Windsor, Ontario. I was born here, grew up here, met my hubs here, and had my children here. I really couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.

More than anything, I love watching my children grow every day. They amuse the hell out of me. I swear they were sent to earth to provide my life with comedic relief. My babies (I say babies, but they’re 5 and 8, still and forever will be babies, am I right?), and my husband, are the reasons why I get up every morning and continue to fight the good fight.

When I’m not enjoying my mommy-life, I’m writing. Writing is my stress reliever. I go a little mad when I’m not creating an escape path for the characters in my head. I love, love, love to read. I’m a reader first, always have been. I try to branch and read all types of genres, but I always seem to come back to those epic love stories. I’m a sucker for a great kiss. When I need breaks from the literary world, I have a few shows that I watch with the hubs; The Walking Dead, The Vampire Diaries, Chicago Fire, and Grey’s Anatomy are my favs. I love rain storms, a good laugh, strong coffee, sleep, and anything with chocolate. I hate mean people, the outdoors, heights.

I genuinely become ecstatic when I receive a like on my Facebook page, or when someone reaches out to say they liked my books. So, thank you for stalking me because I love it!

Excerpt

Whoa, wait! What am I thinking here? No lap dances and dates with Aubrey?

Never. Going. To. Happen.

“What’s up with you, Brent?” Nolan asks. “You’ve been weird since we left your house.”

We’re on the back patio of his house now, which is four doors down from my place. I’m still drinking, but much more slowly.

Setting my beer down on an outdoor iron table in front of me, I sigh. “I don’t know, man. I guess I feel kind of bad treating Aubrey the way I did.”

“What?” He makes a who-the-fuck-cares face. “You mean the life coach chick?”

“Yeah, the life coach chick.” I blow out a breath. “But she’s more than that. She’s a really great girl.”

Nolan knows me far too well. He senses where this is leading.

“Dude,” he begins, in full warning mode. “Don’t even think of going there.”

I play dumb. “What do you mean?”

“Oh, you know what I mean. Getting involved with that woman would be nothing but trouble. She was hired by the team to help you, which kind of makes her like your employee by default.”

“An employee I’d like to bang,” I admit.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”

I glare over at him from across the patio table. “Are you kidding? Of course you would.”

“Yeah, you’re probably right,” he concedes. “So maybe you should bang her. But real secretly. And just once. Get her out of your system before you fuck up your career.”

When he starts staring over at me, like he has more to say on the subject, I make an attempt to change the topic. I need to end this conversation about my life coach, who I already can’t get out of my goddamn mind.

In my most dickhead tone, I say, “Stop giving me your googly eyes, Solvenson. You know how it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when you do that.”

“Fuck off, Oliver,” Nolan volleys back, looking away as he takes a long pull from his beer. As he lowers his bottle, he adds, “I know what you’re doing, anyway.”

“Oh yeah, you do? Please tell me then, great sensei, what am I doing?”

“You’re deflecting. You’re trying to hide from the truth.”

“Which is?”

“You’re falling hard for your hot little life coach.”

Shit, I hate when he’s right.
